It’s up, finally it’s up! What am I taking about? This post, what else :D
When I asked you guys to “ask me anything” you wanted to know, I got lots of comments, mails and messages from you guys asking me your questions, requesting me to do posts which is why it took me ages to write and edit this post. But finally, I’ve managed to answer all your questions and get this post live..
Your most favorite product in skin care?
My most favorite products in skin care are- Sebamed Cleansing foam (my favorite cleanser for acne and scarring) and Avene thermal water spray (you probably know why, it has tons of uses and benefits)!
What’s your hair care routine and tips?
I shall do a separate post on my hair care routine someday as it has been asked by many (what say, do you want to see a post on my hair care routine)? For now let me just tell you the products I use on my hair. I always use a shampoo and conditioner from the same range (that’s my one tip and I think you should also follow this tip to gain benefits from the same hair care range). The shampoo and conditioner I’m using and also loving currently is L’occitane Repairing shampoo and conditioner. I think it’s a great range for damaged hair like mine! I use a hair mask weekly and my current hair mask is Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. I always use a serum or a leave in treatment to add some shine and life to my hair. For me, no hair dryer, no straightener, no curler (basically no heat damage) on a daily basis. I do them once in a blue moon when I really feel the need to style my hair with heat, my hair are good even without styling them with heat. And if I’m using these gadgets on my hair, I make sure to use a heat protectant spray on my hair so that they don’t cause much harm to my precious hair.
- Use a shampoo and conditioner from the same range to see the results that range has to offer.
- Use a hair mask once a week, it can also be homemade!
- Always towel dry your hair before using a conditioner as that way the conditioner gets in direct contact with the hair shaft which smoothen and softens the hair!
- Include a hair serum in your routine if you want soft, shiny hair!
- Limit the use of hair dryer, straightner, curler and other heat gadgets to once a fortnight and make sure to use a heat protectant spray when using heat gadgets.
- Oiling- one thing you all must do! I know many of us neglect oiling our hair but you have no idea what benefits oiling can give! It can give soft, shiny, healthy & thicker hair, prevent grey hair & falling of hair in the long run. I use a mixture of 3-4 oils (almond, olive, coconut, castor oil & lavender essential oil) twice a week, sometimes I’d do hot oil treatment (after oiling my hair, I use a dryer on them so that the oil penetrates deeper in the roots and then wrap a towel on my hair to trap the heat)
- Have biotin tablets daily if you are planning to grow your hair. It can really give you long and healthy hair.
What’s your Skin Care routine? (the most asked question)
Wait for the post coming on my skin care routine where I’ll be sharing the products I use on my skin! It’ll be up in a week or two.
Secret to your long black hair and your even tone body skin!
Seriously, there’s no secret to my long hair! I’m planning to chop my hair off I shampoo my hair thrice a week, oil my hair twice a week and use a hair mask once a week. I don’t use heat gadgets much, I use them only when I really feel the need to use them. Secret to my even tone body skin- really none, it’s just that I take care of my skin nicely! I use a body wash, body scrub and always make sure to use a body sunscreen even if I’m not planning to go out and I moisturize my skin heavily so that I don’t get dry patches!
It’s Pink Pirouette from Streetwear!
What’s your favorite drugstore foundation and your favorite lipstick?
My favorite drugstore foundation is L’oreal True Match Foundation. I just love everything about it- its finish, its texture, the way it blends and makes my skin look flawless, and how it takes care of my dry patches plus its coverage- everything is commendable. It’s one of the best foundation for dry skin and my absolute favorite!
My favorite lipstick, actually there are two lippies I really like and both of them are from MAC. MAC Diva and Ruby Woo– both are my absolute favorite lippies but still if I have to choose one, it would be MAC Ruby Woo which is also my most worn lipstick of all time, planning to repurchase it. Also wearing it in the first pic!
What’s your daily makeup routine?
As I don’t do heavy makeup on a daily basis, my daily makeup essentials are a BB cream, concealer to hide spots and dark circles, powder & sometimes no powder when I want the dewy look, eye liner coz I love to create different looks with eye liner, eye lash curler, mascara, blush, lipstick and an eye brow pencil. I do my daily makeup with these essentials!
If you’d say arrange your daily makeup routine in an order the way you use the products, it’d be:
Concealer, BB cream, powder, blush, eye liner, eye lash curler, mascara, shaping my eyebrows and then lipstick at the end!
What’s your favorite eye shadow palette?
There’s not one single palette I love the most! There’s something or the other I like in an eye shadow palette, I find some palettes have better color pay off while the other has good color options so my liking varies as per the palette. I think Makeup Revolution and MUA has some amazing budget palettes to offer and I own few of them. The palettes on my wishlist are UD Naked palettes (dying to get my hands on them)!
How effective is Vitamin C tablet if you take it daily?
There’s no need to take Vitamin C tablets internally as you can get your daily dose of Vitamin C from fruits like lemon, oranges, gooseberry, guava, etc. which are easily and widely available. The effect of Vitamin C tablets taken internally on skin is near 5% How you can get the most benefits from Vitamin C tablets is by using them externally on the skin. Since there are not much products available with a higher concentration of Vitamin C, it’s best to make your own Vitamin C serum (with Vitamin C tablets) to fight the signs of aging, blemishes, pigmentation and to shield your skin against harmful ultraviolet rays.
How you can make the Vitamin C serum:
Take 3-4 tablets of Vitamin C, if Vitamin C powder is available in your area then that’s a bonus. Dissolve the tablets in distilled water until they fully dissolve and all you see is a white liquid. Then add 2 tbsp of glycerin and 2 tbsp pf rose water, you can also dissolve the tablets in rose water. Add a tbsp of aloe vera gel (the ingredient that binds this serum together), you can also add 2 Vitamin A capsules- it’s optional though (just pierce them and pop out the oil from the capsule). Store this serum in a pump dispenser bottle or a bottle with a dropper (sterlize it nicely before using it if you are using an old one). I use my son’s (medicine) syrup bottle that has a dropper in it for preparing this serum. You’ll be amazed to see the results on your skin once you start using this custom-made serum. It works on blemishes, pigmentation, fine lines, dry skin, dark circles and what not! No market bought cream or serum can give you such amazing results as this serum can.
How can I reshape my tummy? What exercises and diet I shall follow to get slim?
You can reshape your tummy by doing certain things:
- Wear a corset or shapewear (I wear it too 24 hours except when I’m taking bath) and it really works for reshaping your tummy. Jessica Alba said in an interview that she wore double corset after giving birth day and night for 3 months which got her tummy and waistline back in shape.
- Sit up and stand straight, the pressure you put in sitting up & standing straight helps you lose few extra inches!
- Drink lots of water as it flushes harmful toxins out of the body.
- Eat a balanced diet comprising of fresh fruits, vegetables, dry fruits & protein.
- Do different types of exercises- crunches, stretches, aerobics, weight training to get a toned tummy and fit body!
- Have your dinner by 8:00 p.m, no salt after that as it can lead to bloating!
Which foundation is best, I have skin like yours?
To find the perfect shade and your match of foundation, trial and error works! What suits me or what works for me will not probably work for you the same even if you have same skin like mine. That said, I already mentioned my favorite foundation is L’oreal True Match Foundation and there are many other foundations I like (some budget some high-end).
Tell us everything about your makeup sense, give us makeup tutorial!
Lol! I’m no where close to an expert when it comes to makeup, I’m still in a learning phase where I’m not a beginner nor a professional but an intermediate taking my makeup skills to a next level. I’d probably do tutorials when I reach to a professional level! Will try posting much about my makeup sense though, I promise.. :D
Basic everyday foundation for college and beginners!
If you are a beginner and a college student, I’d say go for BB or CC creams first rather than foundation. BB/CC creams (the new innovation in makeup) comes with coverage, SPF, skin care and good finish. The basic everyday BB cream if you’re on a budget is Maybelline BB cream and if you can splurge, I’d say L’oreal True Match BB Cream is the best, it costs Rs. 550
Still if you are looking for a foundation, try the one from Streetwear or Lakme’s basic range. Even Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation is a good option if you are on a budget.
Daily foundation routine for beginners?
I don’t think there’s a different foundation routine for beginners and for non-beginners. Every one pretty much follow the same foundation routine! If you are new to makeup world and don’t know a thing about foundation, then check the series Basic Foundation Guide to get some knowledge about foundation and how you should apply it to get flawless finish!
Which Camera do you use to take pictures for your blog?
I use Nikon D3300 to take pictures for my blog. It’s a good option if you are a beginner and trying to upgrade to a DSLR. As now I’ve learnt most of the settings on my dslr (manual settings), so I’m planning to upgrade to Canon Rebel T5i (as they say it to be the best camera for beauty blogging/vlogging). Don’t just get an expensive dslr just coz everyone else is using a dslr, there’s no use of investing in a dslr until you know how to actually use it. I’ve seen so many bloggers who don’t know how to get good quality pics from their dslr (they may be probably using the wrong settings or using it on an auto mode which you can do on a basic point & shoot camera too, why invest in an expensive camera when you don’t know how to use it). First get yourself a beginner lever dslr and when you’ve learnt to use it (on manual settings basically) then upgrade to a professional level dslr if you’re planning to take your blog photography to a next level. It’s all about practicing and learning if you are new to a dslr world!
What lighting you use to take your blog’s pictures?
Natural day light! Since I don’t have a large window throwing natural light to my room, I pack up all my stuff and go upstairs to click my blog’s pics. I see and wait for the best time of the day to click pics when the sun isn’t too harsh & isn’t too low that it starts casting shadow on my product.
This post is getting too long so I’ll do separate posts on the following topics you guys asked me, I promise, I’ll do a post on each of these topics!
- Share your photography tips and techniques!
- What’s your skin care routine?
- MAC lipstick shades suitable for Indian skin tone!
Hope I didn’t forget any of your requests, if I did, please mention it and I will update this post.
Thank you for reading the post. Have a happy week!
