Avon Blemish Clearing Oil-Free Balancing Lotion

Hi!!!

Today my review is about a moisturizer which I’ve finished using and want to buy it again just for the immediate results it gave me. This is one of my favourite moisturizer as it satisfies all my needs.. Let’s see the review to know what made it my favourite moisturizer..                                                                                             ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` 007

Avon Clearskin Range: This range comprises of four products(i.e cleanser, toner, moisturizer and a spot treatment). I’ve used everything from this range and I liked the cleanser and the moisturizer the most amongst all.

What the Product Claims: This effective Oil-free Balancing light-weight lotion, with Blemish Busting Technology, helps to visibly reduce the appearance of redness and blemish size. Controls excess oil and shine, providing light hydration for clear, healthy skin, all day.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 199/- for 75ml

Directions: Cleanse skin thoroughly before applying product. Use daily as needed. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce frequency of application.

Warning: For external use only, avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Using other topical acne medications at the same time or immediately after this product may increase dryness or irritation of the skin. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash or irritation develops & persists. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed get medical help.

Note: This warning should not be taken for granted. If it is mentioned on the product, precautions should be taken as it is a highly reactive product.

Ingredients: Water, Glycolic Acid, Propylene Glycol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Kaolin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Hydroxide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Salicylic Acid, Fragrance, PEG-40 Stearate, Ceteareth-20, Methylparaben, Steareth-21, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 60, PEG-150 Stearate, Steareth-20, Isododecane, Lysine Carboxymethyl Cysteinate, Polystyrene/Hydrogenated Polyisopentene Copolymer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Atelocollagen, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate.

I was thinking that this ingredient list is never gonna end. I even took a break in between to drink my milk… It is sooo long and full of chemicals except one or two natural extracts.

My Take on this Lotion: I am in love with this lotion. It does all it could (moisturizes, brightens, clears pimples and what not). It contains salicylic acid and glycolic acid which are a form of alpha and beta-hydroxy acids. These two ingredients work deeply to remove marks & pigmentation and peel the skin so that dead cells are removed and you are left with more even tone skin. Although my skin is dry and this product is meant for oily skin, I didn’t mind going ahead and trying it just for its claims to clear skin. When I first ordered this range, I was going through my worst acne phase. I thought maybe this range could do something for me. When my order arrived, I was very excited to try them all out at once but kept my patience and went ahead with this range before my acne treatment could finish. Obviously, first I used the face wash from this range which made my face extra soft and then used the toner (it stings a lot and burns my skin) and then the moisturizer. The moisturizer burnt my skin for the first two days but I didn’t remove it thinking that it might be working on my acne. I didn’t saw any difference in my skin but kept using it for few days and my patience gave me results more than I expected. It made my skin super soft, clearer and more brighter. I stopped using it then, I was being a little miser thinking that it will finish fast and will use it later when all my acne will clear coz it works more on acne marks than acne itself. I again started using it 5 days back and can see a noticeable glow on my skin. The marks left behind by acne are all disappearing.. Goodbye stubborn marks.. It’s packaging is very nice and it has a flip top cap which I find very convenient.

My hands look more clear and moisturised in the swatches… Don’t you agree… Summing up the pros and cons of the lotion.

Pros:

1. It really hydrates the skin and makes it soft.

2. Brightens the face with regular use.

3. Clears up acne and acne marks pretty well.

4. Nice consistency.Only a little is required for one time usage.

5. The bottle is travel-friendly, you can carry it  anywhere.

Cons:

1. Available only through Avon representatives.

2. It smells very bad, only of chemicals.

3. May sting for the first few days and those with sensitive skin may not like it at all.

4. Those who are prone to allergy or reaction after using a certain product, don’t dare to try it.

Will I Repurchase it:

Yes, I surely would, just waiting for this month’s Avon catalogue to come out.

Last Thought: I just love this lotion and will keep using it. I’d recommend this to everyone who are suffering from acne or want to get rid of stubborn acne marks. Ask me in the comments more about alpha hydroxy acids and how they work to give brighter & clearer skin.

Rating: 4.5/5 ( – .5 for non-availability and burning sensation it gave.)
