Babies are cute and what’s more cute is their cuddly, baby soft skin! Their skin is soft, gentle and delicate which needs special care and products than what we use for ourselves. But using any baby skin care brand isn’t gonna give your baby that special care cause they all have almost the same ingredients as found in adult’s products which you don’t want to be using on them, do you? I guess, NO!
Babies need products that are curated exclusively for them, just like them- with gentle ingredients plucked from plants and trees and that is why I stress on natural and organic skin care products for babies! I’ve found these best natural and organic baby skin care brands (in India) that will help you make the right decision of what is safe and natural for your little one.
I also shared a post on my Facebook page on what ingredients to avoid in baby products which you can have a look at Here and I received a huge response on it as well as people mailing me and messaging me to suggest them natural alternatives, so I thought to come up with a post on this topic to help you ladies pick what’s best and what’s not for your little one! So take your pick from the list, ladies!
Biobloom brand for baby skin care products is one of the best natural skin care line! It avoids use of every sort of chemicals like dyes, alcohol, artificial fragrance, parabens, preservatives, ticlosan, SLS/SLES, petrochemicals, etc in their products so you know that you are not using any harsh chemical on your baby’s delicate skin when you load the products from this brand, it’s completely natural! They mostly use natural ingredients like Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Honey, Almond, Neem Extract, Honey in their baby skin care line making its products completely safe and natural!
Note: Biobloom is a natural skin care brand and not Organic!
I came across this brand while I was searching for a copper glass for my baby for all the different (good) reasons I don’t want to go in detail with and I accidently landed on Omved’s official site, this is where I got to know that Omved actually is an ‘au natural’ and ‘go green’ skin care line for both adults and babies. I hopped onto the baby skin care range to check what all they use in their products and surprise, surprise, this unknown ‘newly discovered’ brand just caught my with its ingredient list and claims! It says its products are free from- parabens, silicones, sulphates, glycols, phthalates, synthetic colours or fragrance which all is 100% true to what it says, even if they use any chemical in their products, they mention the source of it on the label and it’s all from plant and fruit source, all in all, it’s completely (97%) natural. They have a wide range of products in their baby skin care line- handmade soaps, ubtans, massage oils, body wash, shampoos, lotions and creams! Almost everything you’d ever need for your baby 👶
3. Rustic Art:
Rustic Art is an organic brand, it uses mostly organic ingredients, while other ingredients might not be organic but they are still natural plant and fruit extracts! Rustic Art avoids all sorts of chemicals and their products are made with 100% natural ingredients, they come in an eco-friendly packaging, are pH balanced and are handmade to support the local vendors get their source of income! They use only certified essential oils, certified IFRA fragrance, natural plant and fruit extracts and butters, that means not even a single trace of chemical is used in their products not even one. The brand is vegan, cruelty free, USDA certified ORGANIC and all safe for your little one! Their baby skin care range has quite a few products- shampoo, soaps, oils, baby wash, baby lotion, aloe gel for diaper rashes, wounds and cuts! They also have a baby laundry powder which also is made with all natural ingredients.
4. La Flora Organics:
This really impressive brand has its root source in Pondicherry where beauty lies in every corner of the city. This brand claims to be 100% natural and when I checked their ingredient list and the sources of the ingredients, oh boy, I was damn impressed by this brand! The brand uses 80% certified organic ingredients and rest 20% natural ingredients derived only from natural plant and fruit extracts. La Flora Organics completely avoids not only harmful chemicals like sulphates, parabens, mineral oil, silicones but avoids even the use of so called ‘safe chemicals‘ making all its products completely natural! The products are handmade, cruelty free, 100% plant based and biodegradable. They use only Edible Veg Oils, therapeutic grade or certified organic essential oils & herbal additives in their products. The products are hypoallergenic and super gentle for baby’s delicate soft skin!
Talk about natural brand in cute packaging, Biotique comes to my mind! The brand has like over 50 products for babies and kids. Some come with a special toon character collection like Mickey Mouse, Car toon and Disney Princess collection (specially for girls) which has like the cutest fonts and prints on their bottles which will make ‘skin care’ and ‘bath time’ of your lil one a play time! The brand uses 100% natural ingredients each of which would be mentioned on their ingredient list, there is absolutely no hidden ingredient and their products are 100% vegan, cruelty free, dermatologist tested and pediatrician approved! Special mention to Biotique sunscreen since most moms are worried what sunscreen to use for their babies which comes with natural ingredients so here’s a good news, Biotique has an SPF 20 sunscreen with all natural ingredients!
6. Juicy Chemistry:
I came across this brand recently and when I read what the brand is about- it appeared more clear to me, this brand is an ‘au natural and organic brand’! Their products like most of the above mentioned brands are handmade, 100% veg, 100% natural, does no animal testing, freshly made, no harmful chemicals and no fragrance oils! They disclose every single ingredient used in their products on the list as they believe knowing the ‘Chemistry‘ of the products you use is the most important thing one should know to make informed choices of what goes onto the skin and specially on your baby’s delicate skin. With that said, if you’d check the ingredient list, you’ll not find even a single ingredient which is not a natural derivative or isn’t compelling with the word ‘natural’. The brand uses both organic and natural ingredients and uses only certified organic, virgin and extra virgin oils in their products and have almost all the essential products for babies- mosquito repellent, soap, diaper rash balm, baby oil, body butter and baby moisturizer, it can make a complete essential kit for your little one!
You can hop onto their website and check the range of their products Here 💗
7. Kama Ayurveda:
Kama Ayurveda doesn’t specifically have a baby skin care range but I wanted to include it in the list for the oils you use for your baby for head and body massage. So when it comes to oil, I always say go Organic and Extra Virgin and for babies, it becomes an absolute must coz you don’t want to be risking their precious soft hair with premature greying, hair fall and dry hair! Every mother wants her baby to always have soft, smooth and strong hair but you don’t really know what and where to start with to maintain the quality of their hair! So this is it, it begins with proper oil massage with organic and extra virgin oils be it olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil sesame oil or any other oil, always go- Organic and Extra Virgin! Kama Ayurveda is an ayurvedic brand which specializes in organic and extra virgin oils, their oils are as good as pure, natural and directly plucked from the plant and extracted into the bottle! You got what I mean, didn’t you? They have almost all oils in their range- coconut oil, almond oil, neem oil, sesame oil and various massage oils like Bhairavi, Darbari, Madhuvanti, etc
Kama has also recently launched a baby soap which is again gentle, natural and organic, hopefully, they’ll be coming up with more baby skin care products and I would love to try out all their products if they come up with their own baby skin care range!
Now let’s understand the difference between ORGANIC and NATURAL!
