How To Make Salty Oatmeal Healthy RecipeAround 60% of the population starts their day with oats and milk (oatmeal). I also used to have oats with milk but sometimes I had to indigest it just for the sake of my health and didn’t like it at all. I skipped it after eating the oats and milk porridge thrice, I said myself that I can not compromise this much with my taste for my health. :-P After a while I shifted to masala oats which many companies are selling nowadays but that too was not healthy as it had very less percentage of oats, dehydrated vegetables and refined wheat flour as the main component of masala. I skipped that too but every time I used to read somewhere that how healthy oats are for our health and beauty, I used to feel sad as I didn’t know any way of consuming it. But then I learned a new way of preparing oats which were salty oats, I thought I should try making this dish once and see how good or bad it tastes after all I won’t lose anything. I tried the recipe and fell in love with it, I got so happy that finally I have a way of consuming oats which are so healthy in all aspects. This is my breakfast recipe and I love eating it, hope you will like it as much as I do.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 a bowl of steamed peas
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 red chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil, ghee or butter (whatever you prefer)
  • cottage cheese
  • Asafoetida (optional)

Method of Preparation:

Heat the oil in a pan. You can use whatever you prefer cooking your dishes with, I always prefer using ghee for cooking my meals. I love to add asafoetida (hing) in all my dishes as it tastes good and has lots of health benefits. You can skip it if you want. After adding the asafoetida add chopped onions and fry them, add turmeric, chilli powder when the onions turn brown in color and 1/4 cup water, just a little to moist the mixture and prevent it from burning. Then add steamed peas, tomatoes and green chillies, salt and 2 1/2 cups water. Bring to boil. Now add oats, grated cheese and cook for 5 minutes till you see the oats absorbing all the water and getting mushy. Now add some more sprinkled cheese to garnish and serve your tasty and healthy oats.

How To Make Salty Oatmeal Healthy RecipeThis recipe is for one person, you can increase the quantities of the ingredients according to your needs. If you don’t love cheese then I suggest not to try this recipe as all its good taste is by cheese. Cheese is what makes it tastier.
