My Experience with Matrix Opticare Smoothing Conditioner:
It comes in an orange color tube with a flip top cap. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. The consistency of the conditioner is thick and spreads easily on hair and while spreading on hair, it gets absorbed in an instant giving a feeling that nothing has been applied which is a weird feeling as no conditioner reacts this way. The only thing I loved about it was its smell, it has a really pleasant smell which I think resembles orange or red guavas, can’t make it till now.
Well, coming to its working part, I was buying all the stuff for my newly rebonded hair in march when I just picked it up reading smooth and straight on it. I have a habit of trying a conditioner first from any brand because I feel conditioners are less damaging than shampoos so if a conditioner does not suit me I can never think of trying the shampoo from that brand. So, I picked the conditioner only for which I’m happy for my decision. This conditioner didn’t do anything for my hair. I used it twice and was left with more dry and rough hair so I stopped using it completely then I saw it lying somewhere and thought to give it a try once again and share with you all my review. I again used it twice and saw the same result, it made my hair rough and dry with all the flyaways visible. What it did was, it gave my hair a straight look, they were looking much straighter but I can’t have straight hair on the condition of making them more rough and dry. If it makes my hair rough and dry then what will it do in repairing the damage, I just can’t understand this.
- Gives straight sleek look to hair.
- Has a really pleasant smell.
- Travel friendly packaging.
- Available only at Matrix salons.
- Does not prevent split ends as claimed by it.
- Makes my hair rough and dry.
- Paraben is in the middle of the ingredient list which is not good.
- Does not condition in any way, there are far better conditioners than this at an affordable price.
Will I Repurchase it: A big no, never :-X in fact I couldn’t even finish using this tube. All you girls, don’t try it but if you don’t mind the dryness in your hair and want straighter look then go for it.
