I am a big fan of chocolate smelling products and feels like trying every product that has cocoa or anything like coco, choco printed on it! I was once a fan of chocolates as well which I had to give due to my acne and pimples popping as soon as I used to eat a chocolate, now I just satisfy myself with chocolate products! So today I would be reviewing The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion which I have been using for past one month.
What The Body Shop Claims:
This lightweight but luxurious body lotion has a decadently chocolatey scent.
- Moisturizing
- Quickly absorbed
- Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
- Indulgent chocolate scent
Price: Rs. 595 for 250 ml.
Ingredients:

How to Use:
Massage into skin and allow to sink in before dressing.
My Experience with The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion:
The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion comes in a transparent pump dispenser bottle, just like typical TBS body lotion packaging. The body lotion smells like chocolate with a slight hint of coconut oil, wish it smelled like chocolates fully as I hate when there are some other fragrances mixed with chocolate smell. I like dark chocolate and fully chocolate smelling products ;) well that’s my case, I can’t expect everything in this world in my favour.
The consistency of this body lotion is medium and it spreads like butter getting absorbed in the skin in 10 seconds or even less. It moisturizes the body well and leaves skin feeling soft without any stickiness or chipchip which is perfect for summers but I think this won’t be moisturizing enough for dry skin or for winters as it doesn’t moisturize heavily. Though the texture feels heavy, it feels very light on skin. One fact that I want to mention about this body lotion is that it tastes so bitter just like karela (bitter gourd) that my hero doesn’t let me use this, what happened once was that he was kissing my palms just palms don’t think anything else, he always kisses my palms when he leave for work, he was like yucckkk what is this and started spitting, it taste so bitter, don’t use this lotion again! I know he is too childish and he hides it every time when I’m about to use it but still I manage to use it. He seriously is so pissed off from this lotion just because it tastes so bitter that now while I’m writing this post, he is saying that yuckk your clothes are also smelling like that lotion though it doesn’t smell that bad but he just don’t like that taste that he hates its smell also now.
I like this lotion and it does a decent job in moisturizing the body and keeps skin moisturized for a good amount of time for 5-6 hours without feeling sticky, it doesn’t even make skin sweat like most other lotions! The only drawback besides its bitter taste could be that it doesn’t have SPF in it which makes it a not so good option for summer!

No, it doesn’t lighten my skin as shown in the pic, this is due to different lightening the pics were taken in!
Pros of The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion:
- Travel friendly, sturdy packaging.
- Moisturizes nicely.
- Keeps body moisturized for 5-6 hours.
- Nice cocoa smell.
- Doesn’t feel sticky.
- Doesn’t make skin sweat.
- Absorbs in seconds.
- Smooth texture that is very easy to spread.
Cons of The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion:
- Tastes bitter, just like bitter gourd.
- Not everyone will like the smell!
- Not moisturizing enough for dry skin or for winters.

I’m yet to try TBS body lotions, me too love coco smell, A flying kiss would be a remedy for the bitter taste ;) LOL!!

Bottle and the lotion looks very pretty.. hahaha karela ka taste.. u shd hv used some other lotion in ur palms alone atleast for his favour :P I am scared of cocoa products though i eat loads n loads of chocolate.. u shd also try eating chocolates again but drink hot water as soon as u eat chocolates it doesnt cause much pimples then..

Ya I do use Jergens body lotion now just for him ;) why scared of cocoa products? They are full of antioxidants and helps with skin rejuvination! Really, will try this trick if it really works!

Hahaha :P I dono sumhow I got scared its sweet so I am scared tht it may penetrate my skin and cause me diabetes ( studying science is such a pain it wil make us believe tht we ll die in a yr even if v get a headache) and d other is i ll end up smelling or biting my hand as am soo much fond of chocolates :laugh: yes that trick worked for me.. aftr some months even if I forget to drink hotwater no pimple occured :D
Haha that’s really funny :P it only smell sweet but taste so bitter that you don’t need to worry of getting diabetes :P cool will try that trick, just told my hubby to get me some chocolates :D

Lol… I love reading your posts even more now because you always add something about your personal life, which I find soo cute!! And I guess most of the lotions would taste bitter, after all they are not edible products!! I once remember accidentally licking some Khadi body lotion. It was also reallly bitter.

The lotion looks so yummmm !! Hihihi :D your hubby is taking all the bitterness of your makeup. :p A good and honest review.. When i saw the swatches i thought wow it lightens the skin. But sadly its just the light.

I like this one! the ones from the chocolate line suit me quite nicely. But I like the chocolate scrub the most in terms of effectiveness! The irony is, I don’t like chocolates :P
