My Take on Lotus Daily Multi-Function Sunblock SPF 70:

I think this sunblock have all the qualities a good sunblock should have, I mean look at the SPF, its UVA protection factor (PA+++), its texture and the oil free, preservative free claims. All these things are enough to blow your mind off and pick up this sunscreen- this is why I picked it up and now, I don’t know how to end using it.

The texture of the sunblock is soft and smooth, it spreads and absorb nicely giving a moisturized healthy glow. This is what I love about it, it feels like a tinted moisturizer and gives sheer coverage and brighter skin immediately on application. The smell is also very nice, feels refreshing and soothing, does not feel strong or irritating at all. Now coming to the hate part, why I don’t like this sunblock! It’s because it gives me hell lot of troubles the day I use it, ya you heard me right, I can wear it nicely and happily for a single day and the next day when I wake up, I see my face full of prickly heat, if you know that small itchy thing you get in summers and for me there’s no season for that itchy thing on my face if I have used this sunblock. I used it a week ago in a hurry not realizing how hazardous after effects it gives me and like always my face was filled with itchy prickly heat which takes the face of breakouts after 3-4 days, ya this is the case with me when I use this sunblock so I hate it more than I love it for its qualities.Lotus Daily Multi-Function Sunblock SPF 70 PA+++ ReviewI know I maybe the first one giving this sunblock a bad review but trust me I’m always true to my words and doesn’t go on writing what everyone else is telling you, if I have a bad experience with a product, I give it bad reviews and if I have a good experience I give it good reviews. Don’t know what maybe the case with me getting allergic to this product as I don’t have sensitive skin, it may be the tube either (and I can’t buy another tube for 500 bucks to test how that will feel on my skin) or it maybe one of the ingredients that I might be allergic to!

While searching a bit online to what ingredient in this sunscreen I can be allergic to- I found out that I developed contact dermatitis which is an itchy blistering skin rash caused by coming in contact to certain substance present in a sunscreen. On searching a bit more, I found out what ingredients in sunscreens can cause contact dermatitis, I’m listing them down below.

  • Para-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA)
  • Benzophenones
  • Cinnamates
  • Salicylates
  • Dibenzoylmethanes
  • Octocrylene

This sunblock has benzophenones in it as a top 4th ingredient and I got badly allergic to it due to which I got blistering itchy rashes over my face and I thought them to be prickly heat. Remember, not everyone may be allergic to these ingredients as I was but it’s always better to avoid such ingredients than to take any risk.Lotus Daily Multi-Function Sunblock SPF 70 ReviewSee what mess its cap gets!!Lotus Daily Multi-Function Sunblock SPF 70 SwatchesBML Rating: 2/5
